Ear jackets? What are they? This is the question we get asked the most. Ear jackets are also known as earring enhancers, earring drops, earring charms or front-back earrings. They attach to the post of any stud earring and add a new element, some colour, some length. In short, they make you stand out. 

Put the post of any stud earring through the earlobe, add the jacket, then add the back/stopper. That’s it! If you prefer, you can also wear the ear jacket in front of the earlobe. Slide it straight on to the earring post and then put the post in your ear.

Most earring jackets can also be worn on a thin hoop earring, making them extra versatile.

All our items are made with sterling silver, 14K gold filled or 14K solid gold components, alongside real gemstones and freshwater pearls. Gold filled contains a top layer of gold that is about 20 times thicker than gold plating. 

We occasionally use silver or gold plated components where these will not come in to contact with your ear directly. 

If you would like to use lab grown gemstones in your pieces we can customise this for you. Lab grown gemstones are chemically identical to mined gemstones and are not classed as imitation stones.

You are right to be concerned about this! Studs + Stones was designed specifically with people like you in mind. As you wear your own studs with any of our designs, you don't have to worry about anything unfamiliar going in to your ear. The links on our ear jackets that will touch your ear are made of sterling silver, 14K gold filled (20x thicker gold coverage than gold plated) or 14K solid gold.

The stud earrings we sell are are in 14K solid gold. We always recommend solid gold (or platinum) for stud earrings as this is where the skin is the most sensitive.

Shipping is free in Singapore. Once your order has shipped, Singapore deliveries usually take 2-3 days to arrive.

Internationally, we ship to Hong Kong, Australia, the USA and Canada. Shipping is an SGD $20 flat fee, or free over SGD $200. Orders will be sent tracked and can take up to two weeks or longer to arrive. Please note that your order may be subject to import duties and taxes, depending on the regulations in your location. Studs + Stones has no control over these, and they will be borne by the recipient.

For in-stock items, we will normally ship out your order within 48 hours on weekdays. You'll receive your tracking number once your order has been shipped. 

All our stud earrings earring jackets, necklaces and bracelets come on a card in a custom pouch and drawer box, along with care instructions.

If your order is a gift, please let us know at check out (or send us a quick email after your order if you forget). We will happily gift wrap if for you, add a hand-written gift message and send your gift directly to the lucky recipient.

It's important to store your jewellery properly. We recommend storing silver pieces in zip-lock bags to minimise tarnishing. Adding an anti-tarninsh tab will also protect your jewellery.

Store gemstone and pearl pieces separately and ensure they do not scratch each other in your jewellery box.

It's always a good idea to give your jewellery a gentle wipe-down when you take it off to remove any dirt, oils and moisture.
